Today was a day of adventuring. Once we woke up and had our coffee and tea, we drove back down the hill to the beach. This beach, dubbed Shipwreck Beach, has probably around twenty to thirty ships that have been dragged into the shallows and left to rust. These are mostly remnants from the war, ships that were in the harbor that had problems or no longer worked for some reason. It’s very eerie to see, but there are already locals that are cutting and disassembling pieces to sell for scrap metal.

We carried on, concentrating on finding new places instead of going directly to Soyo. We stopped at a bay, named Lonely Bay on iOverlander, and had some coffee and tea here. It is a beautiful spot, and I think we would have enjoyed it if we had stayed there, but nevertheless we moved on to the next point on the map.

We arrived at Luvuvamu Resort, on Praia Kissamba, at around 15h00. It’s not very big; it’s mostly a restaurant and then small wooden huts. Around 400m on there is a pretty structure with a roof that we decided to set up on, but not after having a proper late lunch: Half chicken, rice and salad, with an extra plate of chips shared between us.

As soon as camp was relatively sorted, Dad went down to go try his hand at fishing. He was already more successful than his previous attempt at the Zambezi and caught two Bottle Nose fish, that he released back into the ocean.

Camp set up, bellies filled, we retired to sleep with the waves as our lullaby.
