We were very tempted to stay another night at Praia Kissamba, but I think we’re all itching to travel further so that we can start our drive South. It took a while to get everything packed, and then it took some more time to say goodbye to our new friends John, Nina and Bianca, and Dot. Dad showed John some of the routes and stops that they could make on their tour.

It wasn’t very eventful on the road to Soyo. The only exciting thing we found was a double lane highway.

We drove straight to Kinwica Lodge, which Mr. Francisco recommended we should stay at. Here we met Nuno, one of the owners of the Lodge. He helped us in town, showed us where we could buy some groceries and also joined us at the mouth of the Congo River for a quick drink.

Dad also managed to exchange a couple more Dollars, getting a better rate than before: $1 for K468.

After spending some time at the mouth (there isn’t really much to see at the view point, a factory on the left and the river in front of us, but no real view that shows the river going into the ocean) we went back to the lodge and Mom and Dad packed away the groceries that we had bought.

We booked into the beautiful little wooden huts, and settled in for the night.
